Explore and deepen your yoga practice with the science of pranayama, by establishing yourself in the cultivation of consciousness through meditation.
In the series, we will explore powerful yogic breathing techniques to awaken energy sources within, and to purify and balance the body and mind. We will also practice insight meditation to focus and quiet the mind and awaken intuition.
For those who have already attended this series, new exercises will be introduced, such as the lion's breath to release our inner demons, and the nauli, which is an extraordinary technique for releasing long-held tension through deep massage of the internal organs. The added practice of prayer and chanting will help students connect and experience their own sacred inner-space.
Yoga Trance Dance is a joyous exploration of yoga and free-flow movement led by Su Halle of Blissworks Montreal. Pioneered by the acclaimed Shiva Rea, Trance Dance takes us back to the ancient roots of yoga - the Tandava - and moves us forward to new ways of experiencing everday yoga and meditation.
Let your tensions and stress melt away to the beat of the music. No yoga or dance experience required!
What better way to spend a cold Sunday afternoon than curled up on the couch at HappyTree with a hot cup of tea, reading or chatting with other parents, while your child discovers the joys of yoga in the next room.

Kirtan comes from the Sanskrit word for singing, and is as much a part of yoga as are stretching, postures, meditation and breathing. It is a fusion of sounds from various instruments and mantras that remove energy blocks, heal the spirit at deep levels, and allow for a heightened sense of awareness.
Instruments will be on hand, but feel free to bring your own. Bring a smile, bring a friend, and leave with a full heart.
Do you smile and nod when people talk about charkas, but secretly wonder if they're contagious? Still kind of unclear about what OM means or why there's an elephant with four arms on the wall of the studio?
Desk-Guru Dawn will address the mystique and mystery surrounding some common yoga precepts in a workshop that aims to demystify some of the details, and answer the questions you've been meaning to ask.
From crystals and chakras, to malas and mantras, learn the ancient symbolism behind these traditions to unlock their power and discover why yogis do some of the "crazy" things they do.
